A new book about the wildlife and landscapes of this special place goes on sale today
We’re incredibly excited to launch a brand new publication, written by local expert Nigel Phillips, who has pulled together a complete guide to the Quantock Hills.
An intimate mixture of hilltop heathland, oak woodland set in deep combes, and many fast-flowing streams, combine to create the Quantock Hills National Landscape. The books covers the well-known flowering plants and ferns, birdlife and mammals of these magnificent hills. It also explores lesser-known wildlife, with chapters on mosses and liverworts, fungi and lichens, and invertebrates.
It is a beautiful full colour guide that will inspire you to explore and help you learn as you go!

The book will be available in community shops and outlets in and around the Quantocks, or you can buy your copy now from Nature Bureau.
