Stowey Walking, the Walkers are Welcome steering group for Nether Stowey and Over Stowey, will be holding their fifth walking festival this summer in and around the Quantock Hills and West Somerset coast. There will be a variety of walks to suit all abilities. Many of the walks will have a theme with local experts leading each walk. Lynne Abbott from Stowey Walking said she was excited to have representatives from Somerset County Council, Friends of Coleridge, The Thomas Poole Library and the Quantock Landscape Partnership Scheme involved in the walking festival who will be able to share their knowledge of the local area. There will also be a challenge walk over four days covering all 50 miles of The Coleridge Way between Nether Stowey and Lynmouth. All walks will start and finish in the village of Nether Stowey. Weekend walks will end with tea and home-made cakes at St Mary’s Church Centre in Nether Stowey.
Numbers for the walks need to be limited so booking is essential. For full information and booking details visit the Stowey Walking website: www.stoweywalking.co.uk/walking-festival-tickets
