The mire at Ramscombe is one of Friends of Quantock’s conservation projects to protect the rare plants found in this habitat. The project was set up in 2020.
Join John Andrews, Friends of Quantock Chairman, for an hour or so looking at the plants of our Ramscombe mire on Friday 1st July and Wednesday 6th July (a second date has been added to the popularity of the event). At this time of year, the flowers should be at their best. The mire holds about 90 different species, most of them dependent on wet conditions, some easy to identify, some not so!
The event is free to members with a £5 on the day charge for non-members. All walkers must pre-book to secure their place.
Places are very limited to ensure we protect this fragile habitat and only a few places are remaining. All bookings to be made via Eventbrite where there is also further information available.
